Q: Are your fountain pen inks safe to use in all fountain pens? Yes! All our fountain pen inks are formulated to be safe for any standard fountain pen, flex pen, and pointed dip pen. They are easy to clean out and will not clog or damage your nib.
Q: What is the difference between Fountain Pen Ink and Calligraphy Ink? Fountain Pen Ink is designed for filling fountain pens and flex pens — it has a thinner consistency for smooth, clog-free flow. Calligraphy Ink is better suited as a dipping ink for brush pens and pointed dip tools. Both options are available on most of our ink product pages. 💡 Tip: If you are unsure, go with Fountain Pen Ink — it works for dipping too!
Q: How long does the ink last in the bottle? Our inks have a shelf life of over 10 years without any risk of fungus or spoilage, provided the bottle is kept sealed when not in use. Store all inks in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Q: Will the ink smudge or bleed on paper? Our inks are formulated for no smudging and no bleed-through on standard calligraphy and writing papers. For best results, we recommend using Oriandcalli calligraphy papers or any good-quality smooth paper.
Q: Are the metallic inks suitable for fountain pens? Our metallic inks are best used as dipping inks or with brush pens. We do not recommend filling metallic inks into fountain pens, as the metallic pigments can settle and clog the nib over time.
Q: Can I mix different ink colors together? Yes! You can mix inks from the same product line to create custom shades. We do not recommend mixing fountain pen inks with metallic inks, as the different formulas may affect consistency and flow.
✒ Pens & Nibs
Q: How do I fill ink into my flex pen or fountain pen? Remove the empty cartridge, dip the nib into the ink bottle, and gently pull the plunger to draw ink up. Wipe off any excess ink from the nib before writing. Video guides are available on our Instagram page @oriandcalli.
Q: My nib feels scratchy — is that normal? Our flex pens feature a fine, sharp pointed nib that mimics traditional calligraphy nibs. A very slight scratch during initial use is normal. Try writing at a 45-degree angle with a light hand. If the issue persists, please contact us.
Q: Can beginners use your flex pens? Absolutely! Our flex pens are designed to be beginner-friendly. If you are new to calligraphy, we recommend starting with the standard Flex Pen before moving to the Extra Flexible version, as extra flex requires more pressure control.
Q: How do I clean my pen after use? Flush the pen with clean room-temperature water until the water runs clear. For metallic or heavily pigmented inks, use a diluted pen flush solution. Always store your pen horizontally or nib-up when not in use.

Q: How long does delivery take? Domestic (India): 3–4 business days. International: typically 7–20 business days. You will receive a tracking number once your order ships. Orders are processed within 1–2 business days.
Q: Can I cancel or change my order after placing it? Orders can be changed only before a tracking number is generated. Once shipped, cancellations and refunds are no longer accepted. Please email us at oriandcalli@gmail.com as soon as possible if you need to make changes.
Q: My ink arrived damaged — what do I do? We're sorry! Please photograph the damaged item and packaging and email us at oriandcalli@gmail.com within 48 hours of delivery. We will arrange a replacement or refund promptly.
